Chicken Kiev (new photos)

While the delicious garlicy Chicken dish might have been made up by some poncy French chef, Kiev in the Ukraine, is certainly not made up. We arrived yesterday afternoon, after an 18 hour epic from Warsaw. Initial impressions of the hostel were low, but they have improved over the last day. The city is very good, and offers more in the way of culture than Warsaw. Its also cheap to boot, at about 30p for a beer in a supermarket and 60p for a litre of unleaded. We leave Russia''s bread-bastard tomorrow night and hope to fill tomorrow with more of the same as today (below), but with more sun. As usual, more photos to come... probably from Moscow (likely to be renamed Cashcow from what we have heard). Rob
